Miller Farm Preserve Walk : East Haddam

This hike, originally planned for Sunday, September 27, will highlight the ongoing woodland management project at Miller Farm Preserve. Learn about unhealthy vs healthy forests and what work has been done, and will be done, to remove unhealthy and aging trees. The work is being done to encourage regrowth of young trees and understory shrubs, with the expectation of improving the overall diversity and resiliency of this preserve. Meet at the Tater Hill parking area of Miller Farm Preserve. Leashed dogs are welcome to accompany their humans. Hikers are encouraged to bring snacks to share for a post-hike tailgate.
EHLT will supply light refreshments.
Note: Miller Farm Preserve will be closed to the public during the selective tree-clearing process, expected to begin in October 2026.​
